For each of the 5 elements of design (shape, line, texture, space, value), find an example that utilizes each element within the design (Google search for poster design, advertisement, etc.). You should have 5 DIFFERENT sample designs.  For each, evaluate the design in 4 to 5 sentences.  Label each with the appropriate element.  Then, discuss how that particular element is used and how it enhances the design.

Shape

The BMW logo utilizes the element of shape. The shapes that are used to make this are simple and that's how a car logo should be. The designers made sure not to have too much going on with the logo and that makes it look even better. This doesn't look like any other logo out there and that's why BMW's are well- known.

Line

The Verizon logo utilizes the element of lines. The designers chose to use lines to show a sharper image. They didn't use a lot of lines, so there isn't a lot to focus on. This logo is simple and it clearly shows which brand it is. That is why Verizon uses the element of lines.

Texture

The Black Denim Co logo utilizes the element of texture. This logo is visually pleasing to the eye. There is a lot going on, so there are many interesting parts to look at. The designers were smart to focus this logo on texture.

 Space

The World Wildlife Foundation logo utilizes the element of space. This is a very common and popular logo. The designers kept it simple, but also bold. The contrast of black and white make this logo stand out compared to other logos. Overall, the use of space makes this a noticeable and popular logo.

Value

The Google Chrome logo utilizes the element of value. Certain parts of this are darker than others and that gives it a 3D look. Along with the 3D look, it is bold and stands out. This is a very common and well- known logo. The designers chose to use value to make the different parts of the logo stand out.
